Sushi Room
Project Category:
Restaurant Fit Out
Location:
James St, Fortitude Valley
Building Sushi Room on James Street in collaboration with Richards & Spence was a rewarding and technically ambitious project that brought design and construction together in perfect balance. From the beginning, it was clear this space demanded precision. Every element, from layout to finishes, was designed to create a refined, immersive dining experience. A true highlight of the project is the custom dome ceiling, a striking architectural feature that required detailed engineering, intricate fabrication, and careful onsite coordination. The structure was fully prepared for acoustic treatment and now stands as a defining feature of the space. Throughout the build, we worked closely with the architects to bring their vision to life, seamlessly integrating clean concrete finishes, a custom stainless steel bar and commercial kitchen, and refined joinery across the restaurant, private dining room, and servery. Every detail was considered: from pivot hinges and bespoke tapware to hand fabricated pendant lighting, curved stainless steel surfaces, and even treasure chest-style cabinetry.

Delivering this project meant bringing together over 30 trades and services, including electrical, flooring, acoustic treatment, glazing, steel fabrication, and more. The final result is a space that’s not just beautiful, but highly functional, designed for durability, efficiency, and above all, experience. Sushi Room is one of those rare projects that leaves a lasting impression. We’re proud to have played a part in delivering a restaurant that is as detailed and considered as the food it serves.
